Doug and Becca met in elementary school. To break the ice, Doug mustered up the gumption to clock Becca upside the head with his Thundercats lunchpail. Becca cried.
Two years later, Doug (now significantly more mature), wrote a letter to Becca. He passed it off to his friend to give to Becca's friend to give to Becca. The note posed a question: "Do you want to go around? Check Yes or No." Becca quickly consulted her BFFs, marked her answer, and returned the note to her friend who gave it back to Doug's friend, who in turn gave it back to Doug.
With great anticipation, Doug carefully opened the letter which revealed Becca's answer: "Maybe".
Doug was overjoyed. He experienced no rejection, and was also under no responsibility to maintain a relationship.
Today Doug and Becca got married.
